Why should I use Massage on the
Web for a web site?
|
-
No one else will
provide massage and bodywork content for your web site
as well as design and hosting. You can have it all in
one place.
-
No one else doing
web sites has our experience. We have ten years of
successful business experience publishing educational
newsletters exclusively for massage therapists and bodyworkers.
More than a thousand of them have used our newsletters
to increase their business.
-
With our
Professional and Custom web sites, we do it all for
you and are patient and happy to work with professionals
who aren't computer oriented. In fact, we even have
one client without a computer or email! We know most
therapists don't have the time or interest in computers
to design and program a web site, write articles, maintain
their web site and make changes.
-
No one else will
give you the attention and service that we provide our
Professional and Custom
Web Site clients. Read our
testimonials.

|
Why do you have four different
kinds of web sites? |
We know the massage
and bodywork profession. We know that practices are different.
The New Practice Special is
specifically designed to help new graduates get their practice
off to a running start for very little expense. We recognize
that a separate professional biography page may be worse
than none if all it says is "Graduated a few months
ago." Why pay extra for it then?
The Do-It-Yourself-er
is for the therapist that enjoys working with a computer
and has a practice that doesn't require full-time attention.
He or she wants total control and should not have to pay
for unneeded services. Having massage articles already available,
however, is something of value.
The Professional
Web Site is for the therapist with a successful practice
who needs the extra pages to show all her or his training,
client testimonials and services. She or he values the aesthetics
of a professional web site.
The Custom
Web Site is for businesses, generally with retail sales
and those who want something personal
and special to reflect their level of success. |
|
What
should I put on my web site? |
We strongly recommend your contact
information (phone, address, email), hours, services and
rates. The New Practice Special also includes the monthly
massage article link and one of the following: a quotation,
testimonial, short statement of your philosophy, mission
statement, etc.
At Massage on the Web, a Professional
Web Site includes all the above, plus additional pages
for 3 - 6 more massage articles, office policies (such
as whether you accept credit cards, require 24-hour cancellation,
etc.), testimonials, your professional biography and more.
In fact, our Professional Web Site information form has
room for more than 20 different pieces of information
for your web site.
|
|
| What if I want to change or add
to what I gave you? |
Email us the changes
you want. Emailed changes we can cut and paste into your
web site are part of the monthly hosting fees for a Professional
Web Site or a Custom Web Site. Changes can be made once
per month. Changes to the New Practice Special are an extra
cost option and general take half an hour or
less. |
|
Can I upgrade? |
Certainly. We'll
credit you the full amount of the design and set-up fee
for your New Practice Special when you purchase a Professional
Web Site or a Custom Web Site at Massage on the Web. You
can keep the same web address, making
it easy for all your existing massage and bodywork clients. |
| |
| What if I already have a web site? |
Several people have transferred their web sites to us
because they wanted our massage articles, especially the
monthly massage article. Others have switched because
they liked our designs, our prices, or our fast, friendly,
service. Our transfer
fee is quite reasonable.
Have a web site that is expiring shortly? Don't have
enough knowledge of the web to handle a switch yourself?
We generally handle everything, but can walk you through
anything you need to do, if it comes to that. Most of
the time, we can even arrange for you
to keep the same web address and email.
|
|
How will people find my web
site at Massage on the Web? |
First, don't think of your web site as a yellow page
ad. If you put up a pretty page and do nothing else, you
shouldn't expect lots of phone calls from people who never
heard of you. It doesn't work that way.
A web site is just one very important part of your whole
advertising campaign. It will be as effective as you make
it by including your web site address in all your other
advertising, putting it in your newsletter, in your ads,
on your business card, on your letterhead, on your brochures
and telling everyone you know about it.
Want to guarantee that your web site pays for itself?
Get other local businesses with web sites to put links
on their site to your web site. Put links on your site
to theirs. Put a special, gift or referral certificate
on your Massage on the Web site to encourage people to
refer people to you. Put up articles on massage. Educate
your existing clients so they become repeat clients. Change
your information frequently. Keep people coming back.
Search engine referrals are wonderful, but by themselves
they won't be enough to justify the cost of a web site.
Instead, focus on existing customers, link exchanges with
local businesses and putting your web site address in
your other promotion.
|
|
What about search engines? |
Since you are going to have a web site and you are going
to work it to make it pay, you might as well also submit
your site to search engines so you can be found. Our Professional
and Custom Web Sites are both designed with search engines
in mind. Go to our support page
and follow the link to submit your web site.
Search engine experts agree that having a lot of content
about your subject, changing that content, and having
a lot of links from other web sites are among the best
methods of appearing on the search engine result pages.
That is why we offer several massage articles, including
one monthly article, and your monthly changes as part
of our Professional and Custom Web Sites.

| |
| How else can I promote my practice
with my web site? |
| See our advice pages. |
| |
| What are the different types of
web addresses? |
There are three different types of web addresses. The
most expensive and the most professional is www.YourName.com
or www.YourName.net or www.YourName.org. This can cost
as much as $35 a year just to own the name and many of
the good names are already gone. Another type of web address
is YourName.MassageOnTheWeb.com. There is no additional
charge for this type of name at Massage on the Web.
The third type of web address is www.MassageOnTheWeb.com/YourName.
This last type tells anyone who is familiar with computers
and the Web that you are just renting a small amount of
space on someone else's web site. That is why we do not
use that type of web address for any of our clients.
|
|
Is the web address I want
available? |
If you want the
www.YourName.com type of web address, you have to check
to see if anyone else on earth (literally) has already registered
it. (If you would like to do that yourself, click
here.) If you want a web address like YourName.MassageOnTheWeb.com,
you only have to register it with Massage on the Web. So,
even though someone else had already registered www.DallasMassage.com,
Dallas.MassageOnTheWeb.com is still available. |
| |
| I have an email address. Why should
I use yours? |
| There are two good
reasons. First and most important, why not advertise your
massage and bodywork services every time you send or receive
an email? If your email address is sue3774@aol.com, you
are advertising AOL, not Sue's Massage! Doesn't Sue@MassageOnTheWeb.com
do a better job of promotion for you? Mary384@hotmail.com
does not tell anyone about the relaxation you can bring
about through massage and bodywork. Using Relaxation@MassageOnTheWeb.com
does.
The second reason for having a Massage
on the Web email address is that you can track your web site
promotion. When you see an email addressed to your Massage
on the Web email address you will know that it was related
to your web site. |
|
Will I have to learn how to handle a second email
account? |
| We program your Massage
on the Web email address to go directly to your existing
email address. Therefore, you do not have to do anything
differently than you are now. You continue to use your usual
email account, whether it is hotmail.com, AOL, or whatever.
However, when you get email from your Massage
on the Web email address it will say, "To: YourName@MassageOnTheWeb.com"
instead of "To: YourName3452@aol.com." The people
sending you email will not have to do anything differently
nor do you, but you will be advertising and tracking your
advertising results all the time. |
| |
| What if I want a separate email
account? |
Perhaps you have
a second person for whom you want to get an email account.
Perhaps you just do not want to mix your personal and professional
email. No problem. We can set up a separate Massage on the
Web email account for you. This is an extra
cost option for the New Practice
Special. |
